Obituary of Thelma Louise Allgood
Thelma Louise Allgood, age 78, passed away on Friday, March 8th, 2013 in Bloomington, Indiana with her family by her side. Thelma was born March 9, 1934 in Jackson County, Indiana to the late, Virgil and Hazel (Tate) Taylor. On November 10, 1955 Thelma married the love of her life, Raymond Allgood, to whom she was married for 57 wonderful years. Thelma graduated as a Smithville High School Skibo in 1952. She worked at RCA in her younger years before she decided to take on the most important job she could ever do; to become a housewife and stay at home Mom for her loving Husband and Children. Thelma fought a long hard struggle for 3 years with Alzheimer’s disease. Thelma was an 8 month residence of Garden Villa Nursing Home. The family would like to thank the Nurses and Aids on Station 4 for the care they gave to her during her stay with them and the support they gave the Family. The Family would also like to thank the wonderful Hospice Nurses and the Staff at the Hospice House for the care they gave her in her final days. Thelma is survived by her Husband, Mr. Raymond Allgood; Children, David (Nita) Allgood of Bloomington, Darla (Keith) Lentz of Bloomington, Darren Allgood of Bedford, and Dalane (Wayne) Anderson of Bloomington; Grandchildren, Tiffaney Allgood, Ashley Allgood, Joshua Allgood, Ryan Lentz, Tyler Lentz, Jacob Allgood, Logan Allgood, Taylor Allgood, Brandon Anderson and Bailey Anderson; Great-Grandchildren, Hailey Allgood, Addison Allgood and Brylon Bowman; and Siblings, Pete Taylor, Jimmy Taylor, Dale Taylor, Roger Taylor and Sherrie Garlisch, all of Bloomington. Thelma was preceded in death by her Parents; Sister, Wilma Hardy, and her Daughter, Dana Allgood. A funeral Service for Thelma will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 11:00am at Deremiah Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel. Friends may visit the family from 2:00-8:00pm on Monday, March 11, 2013 at the funeral home, as well as an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery. The family requests that Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and the Bloomington Hospice House.
