Lawrence E. Jackman Jr.
November 18, 1941 – January 28, 2018

Rev. Lawrence E. Jackman, Jr., 76, of Columbus, died Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Rev. Jackman was an ordained Presbyterian minister for 51 years and was a member of the Presbytery of Ohio Valley. He was also Chairman of the Board for Pyoca Campground in Brownstown. Larry was devoted to family, especially his grandchildren. He was born to be “Granddad,” and led a life of open-handed generosity.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence E. Jackman, Sr. and Xie Skaggs Jackman; brother, Butch Jackman; and grandson, David Shalem Jackman.
Larry leaves behind his loving wife of nearly 30 years, Deb Goforth of Columbus. He is survived by two children: Leah Jackman-Wheitner who lives in Columbus with her husband Jeff; and Marcus Jackman with his wife Susan of Chapin, SC. Larry also leaves behind five grandchildren: Lexi and Kati Jackman-Wheitner of Columbus; as well as Alison, Josephine, and Elijah Jackman of Chapin, SC; Also surviving are his sister, Lee Covington of Virginia Beach, VA and several nieces and a nephew.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church, 512 7th St., Columbus, with Rev. Dr. Felipe Martinez officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Myers-Reed Chapel. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to service time Saturday at church. Interment will be private at a later date.
