Obituary of Juanita Ervine Brown
G. Juanita Ervine Brown, 88, of Greenwood and formerly of Connersville, died Thursday, October 6, 2011 at The Hearth at Stone’s Crossing in Greenwood. A Connersville native, Juanita was born March 1, 1923 to John Carson and Lillian Irene Ennis Ervine and was a 1942 graduate of Connersville High School. On July 25, 1959, she was married to Harold L “Brownie” Brown who died March 23, 1997. Juanita had been employed for 27 years as a cashier at Krogers in Connersville, retiring in 1979. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. After retiring, they moved to Leesburg, Florida. Juanita had also lived in Franklin following her husband’s death before moving to Greenwood. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Leesburg, Florida and liked to play cards and bingo. Juanita most enjoyed spending time with her family and attending family gatherings. Juanita is survived by two children and their spouses: Kathie J. Nichols and Roger of Connersville, Bill Friend and Tricia of Greenwood; two step-children and their spouses: Tawney Hale and Alan, John Brown and Joyce, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Donna Rosengarten of Dayton, Ohio; Gale Peters of Salt Lake City, Utah; Bill Gunnell of Connersville; Karen Harris of Ramstein, Germany; Jason Gunnell of Connersville; Ronda Locke and her husband, Bob, John Friend and Tara, all of Whiteland; three step-grandchildren: Stephanie Frasher and Joe Brown, both of Cincinnati; Jody May and Chris of the Orange community; nine great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson: Jacob Powell; two nieces: Agnes Wilcher of Greenfield and Barbara Robinson of Richmond. In addition to her parents and husband, Juanita was preceded in death by her brother, John A. Ervine. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Elder Richard Byrd of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service where memorial contributions may be made to the Connersville Seventh Day Adventist Church.
