Louise Rudasill O'Bannon

Louise Menefee Rudasill O’Bannon, 87, of Woodville, VA, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012. She was born January 12, 1925, to the late Robert Luther Rudasill and Marie Elizabeth Bruce Johnson of Woodville, VA.
Louise attended Madison College and Richmond Professional Institute where she received a B.S. in Nursing. In 1946, she graduated from Stuart Circle Hospital School of Nursing; was an R.N. at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal as well as Culpeper Memorial Hospital; taught pre-clinical nursing for fifteen years at Piedmont Technical School in Culpeper; was a lifelong member of the Woodville Baptist Church.
Louise cared for a lot of people and she will be missed by them. She was well respected and loved.
She is survived by four children, John M. O’Bannon III, Robert H. O’Bannon, Elizabeth O. Scott and Martha L. O’Bannon-Hitt, five grandchildren; John H. O’Bannon, Virginia O. Deasy, Andrew H. O’Bannon, Jason M. O’Bannon and Katie A. O’Bannon, four great-grandchildren; Cecelia A. Deasy, Margaret L. Deasy, John P. Deasy and Michael L. Deasy, one sister, Mary R. Pankey of State College, PA, and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Maurice O’Bannon, farmer, orchardist, and gift shop owner, and one sister, Jane R. Hopkins.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2012, in the Woodville Baptist Church with interment to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Woodville, VA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Nursing Scholarship Fund of Germanna Community College, 2130 Germanna Hwy., Locust Grove, VA 22508.
