Barbara Sue Nellis

Barbara Sue Nellis, 68, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at her home. She was born in Evansville on November 25, 1949. She graduated from North High School in 1967. Barbara’s passions were gardening, crocheting, cooking and canning. She would cook the family Sunday dinners, and her door was always open to all. Her gardens and flower beds were always beautiful. Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Michael Nellis; mother, Wanda Jones, and father, Allen Gourley. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Michael Nellis; son, James Nellis (Amanda); grandchildren, Amanda, Kendra, Jackson, Brooke and Lindy; brothers, Terry Gourley, Michael Gourley (Jeanne), Daryl Gourley (Paula) and Bobby Gourley (Susie); sisters, Debra DeMunbrun (Bob), Nita Hayden (Curt), Edith Whitehouse, and her baby dog, Sophie. A Funeral Service will be 11:00AM, Monday, June 25, 2018 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit 1:00-6:00PM, Sunday June 24, 2018 and Monday from 10:00AM to service time at the funeral home.
