Bettye R. Best

Bettye Ruth Best, 87, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Heritage Center. She was born December 23, 1930 in Nauvoo, AL to the late William and Mary (Cobron) McGough. She worked for EVSC for over 40 years in the school cafeterias. Bettye was a wonderful cook and was well known for her homemade cinnamon rolls. She was member of Heritage Baptist Church. She was a kind and caring person, loved yard sales and gag gifts. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Heritage Center for their wonderful care and compassion. Bettye was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Best and sons, Gary and Kenny Best. She is survived by sons, Bill Best and Terry Best (Debbie); 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, officiated by Chaplain Tim Gerbig, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the funeral home.
