Etta Jo Hicks

Etta Jo Hicks, 82, of Evansville, IN passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at her home. She was born in Evansville on June 7, 1935 to the late Winston and Gladys Bailey. She graduated from Reitz High School in 1953. Etta retired in 2003 from WorkOne as a caseworker for over 46 years. She loved going to Casino Aztar and studying genealogy. Etta was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Ayers. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Hicks; grandson, Jesse Hicks; and brothers, Gary Bailey, Terry Bailey, Steve Bailey, Warren Bailey; and brother-in-law, John Ayers all of Evansville. The family would like to thank Deaconess Home Hospice Care, Deaconess Oncology, Chemo Buddies, and all the caregivers that took care of Etta. Funeral Services will be 11:30 AM, Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Alexander Memorial Park Heritage Chapel. Friends may visit 10:00 AM until service time on Thursday at the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Vanderburgh Humane Society or American Cancer Society.
