Janet Marie Skelton, 53, of Elberfeld, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014, at her home. She was born December 31, 1960 to Eugene and Esther Meny.
Janet attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Altar Society, and the church choir. Janet graduated from Gibson Southern High School in 1979 and from USI in 1984 with a degree in Accounting. She enjoyed singing, camping, going to the lake, building puzzles, painting, dominos, cards, and gathering around family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her dear mother, Esther Meny; grandmother, Cecilia Hertel; father and mother-in-law, Darrell and Dallas Skelton.
Janet is survived by her husband of 28 years, Curtis Skelton; daughter, Harlee (Ryan) Harpe; son, Shelby; granddaughter, Willow; father, Eugene Meny; siblings, Joan (Joe) Nurrenbern, Gary (Michelle) Meny, Angie (Ted) Kares, Victor (Kiyla) Nurrenbern, Rena (Matt) Rohrbach, Bridget (Kyle) Blankenberger, Dalton and Haleigh Meny; several beloved cousins; and 3 great-nieces and one great nephew.
A Memorial Mass will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 17, 2014, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 5301 Daylight Drive, Evansville IN, officiated by Fr. Jason Gries, with burial in Providence Cemetery at a later date. Friends may visit Saturday from 9:00 AM until mass time at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church; Southern Care Hospice, 12251 U.S. 41, Evansville, IN 47725; or any foundation of choice.
