Leroy F. Hollander

Leroy F. Hollander, 81, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Select Specialty Hospital. He was born September 15, 1931, in Evansville, to the late Leroy A. and Eleanor Hollander.
He graduated from Central High School in 1949 and was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving in the Korean War. He was an Eagle Scout, a member of Order of the Arrow and a Scout Leader for 29 years. He was a photolithographer for Keller Crescent retiring in 1993 with over 30 years of service. He was a member of the Immanuel Presbyterian Church. Leroy was humorous and devoted to his family and friends. His hobbies included canoeing, traveling, leather tooling, photography, gardening, collecting old cameras and coins and he was also a history buff.
Leroy was preceded in death by parents; first wife, Beverly Bailey Hollander; son, Steven Hollander; and twin grandsons, Nathan and Noah Hollander.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie (Rodgers) Hollander; daughter, Barbara (Denny) DeWeese; daughter-in-law, Susan Hollander; grandchildren, Aaron (Cait) DeWeese, Stephanie Hollander and Kelley Hollander; great-grandchild, Keagan DeWeese; sister, Patricia Brown; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services were 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Dr. Wayne Perkins, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends visited Wednesday from 10:30 AM until service time at the funeral home.
