Priscilla Hilderbrand

Priscilla Jane “Sam” Hilderbrand, 68 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Priscilla Jane “Sam” Hilderbrand, of Silver Spring, MD on Friday, March 30, 2018, in Olney, MD. She was born July 18, 1949 in Martinsville, VA to the late Charles Frank, Jr., and Lucille Plaster Campbell. She graduated from J.E.B. Stuart High School in Falls Church, VA in 1967. She started her career as a model and beauty pageant participant. She attended college at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University where she met Gerald R. Hilderbrand of Roanoke, VA. They were wed in Washington, DC on July 28, 1969. Priscilla worked as a United States House of Representatives Aide for the 92nd Congress to Congressman Speedy Long of Louisiana. She began her 30-year career with The Tower Companies of Rockville, MD in Silver Spring as the Resident Manager of the Blair East Apartments and moved on to manage Blair Plaza, Blair Towers, and Blair House. She then worked at the main office of The Tower Companies in property management. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and spending time with her friends, family, children and grandchildren. Surviving are two sons and four grandchildren: Adrian Hilderbrand (Erin Cornelius) and children Taryn, Owen, and William of Bangor, WA and Robert Hilderbrand (Kate Hammen) and daughter Mae of Ellicott City, MD. She is also survived by her sister Lorraine Campbell Sims and children Bailey, Zachary, and Hunter of Manassas, VA; her aunt Hazel Plaster Kapus of Farber, PA; and cousins Michael Slugocki of Tampa, FL, Howard Slugocki of Slatington, PA, Bernard Kapus of Gibsonia, PA, and Janice Kapus Davis of Farber, PA. Her brother Steven Campbell preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the International Down Syndrome Coalition (theidsc.org). The family would like to thank the Oncology and nursing staff of MedStar Montgomery Medical Center in Olney, MD. A graveside memorial service will be at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA on May 12, 2018 at 12:00PM.
