Obituary of April Lillian Zeidler
April Lillian Zeidler, 76 passed away Sunday December 25, 2021 at her home surrounded by family, in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born April 27, 1945 in Long Island, NY, the daughter of the late Charles Reinmuth and Rosemary Sollitto. She graduated in 1963 from Half Hollow Hills High School, Dix Hills, New York. She married the love of her life, Chester Martin Zeidler, on her birthday, April 27, 1968. She was a fixture at Lincoln Elementary for 28 years as a teacher’s aid and custodian. April loved children and would be seen roller skating at recess with students. Kids waited in line to have her sign their yearbooks and she was affectionately known as “Mrs. Z”. She was a natural athlete and enjoyed watching and playing sports. She also enjoyed cheering on her grandchildren at their games. She was a natural storyteller and comedian; lifting the energy in any room to a positive light. She had a strong faith in God and always put faith, family and friends above herself. April is survived by her children Chester R. “Chet” (Alicia) Zeidler of Huntertown, IN; Rosie (Mike) Roselle of Fort Wayne, IN; April (James) Rimes of Noblesville, IN; siblings, Lillian (Greg) Safarik of Bethel, CT; Dan (Carol) Sollitto of Murphy, NC; grandchildren, Rocco and Lillian Zeidler, Sophia (Brenden) Zeisloft, Olivia Roselle, Mikey Roselle, Katie (Tanner) Hartley, Tyler (Ellen) Anderson, Colton Elbrecht, Christopher (Taylor) Elbrecht, and Kennedy Elbrecht. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Chester M. Zeidler in 2016, Son in Law, Chris Elbrecht, sister and brother in law, Linda (John) Kelly, step father Dan Sollitto and her dog Jax. Memorial service will be 6pm Tuesday January 11, 2022 at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home 4017 Maplecrest Road Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation from 2-6pm at the funeral home. Private burial in Cicero Cemetery, Cicero, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control.
