OBITUARY
David Barry Hobrock
August 16, 1928 – March 23, 2014
David Barry Hobrock, 85, passed away Sunday March 23, 2014 at Lutheran Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Paul Henry and Irma Fay (Merriman) Hobrock. He was a graduate of Northside high school and Indiana University. After serving in the U.S. Navy, David returned home and bought his father’s business, Allen County Tractor Sales. He was a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church. David was an active member of the Northside Alumni Association, Past President of the Greater Fort Wayne Aviation Museum and a past member of AOPA. For many years David enjoyed training and showing horses. He was an instructor of Dale Carnegie courses and a private aviation pilot. He enjoyed flying his own plane, fishing, skiing, snowmobiling, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. For 25 years David enjoyed spending time at the family’s cabin in Michigan. And, later he and Barbara would spend winters in Florida.
Surviving are his daughters, Sally Ann (Zdzislaw) Achramowicz and Mary Kay (Ron) Bonar; grandchildren, Capt. David (Amanda) Achramowicz, Dr. Eugenia (Justin, M.D.) Malenkos; great grandchildren Brayden Achramowicz, Emily Achramowicz, William Malenkos, Andrew Malenkos and niece Hope (Larry) Widner. He was preceeded in death by his wife Barbara Ann (Schlatter) Hobrock and his sister Sandra (Dailey) Noot.
Services will be Friday April 4 at 11:00 AM at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 460 W. Wayne St. with visitation 1 hour prior services. Visitation will also be Thursday April,3 from 4-7 PM at Klaehn, Fahl and Melton Funeral Home, 402 W. Wayne St. To sign online condolences www.klaehnfahlmelton.com.
