Josephine B. Adams, 96, of Avilla, has gone to be with her Lord and Savior on Good Friday, March 29, 2013. She was born December 13, 1916 in Auburn, Indiana, the daughter of the late John Wesley and Lizzie Lottie (Cornell) Smith. She was proud to be a homemaker and a compassionate Christian who loved the Lord. She was a member of Liberty Mills Church of the Nazarene, was an avid reader, and was a great listener; always willing to give excellent advice. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, along with her Provena family. She passionately cared for children, whether it was helping to raise neighborhood children, babysitting, or teaching Sunday school. Surviving are her husband, Ellis E. Adams of Avilla; son, Wesley Adams of Kimmell; grandchildren, Deborah Adams, Cathy (Jim) Griffis, Rebecca (Thomas) Clendenen, Laurie (Dave) Beck, Cynthia (Randy) Christo, Janet Wagoner, and Mike (Ann) Adams; 14 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; and daughters in law, Dianna Adams and Donna Adams, both of Fort Wayne. She was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Adams. A funeral will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Provena Sacred Heart Home, 515 North Main Street, Avilla, Indiana, 46710 with visitation 1 hour prior. Visitation will also be on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 5 to 8 PM at Provena Sacred Heart Home. Burial will be at Lindenwood Cemetery. Preferred memorials may be made to Provena Sacred Heart Home or Liberty Mills Church of the Nazarene. “THANK GOD FOR JOSHEPHINE”
