Obituary of Kathryn Katy June Snyder
KATHRYN (KATY) JUNE SNYDER, 85, of Fort Wayne, died peacefully of natural causes at home surrounded by her loving family. Born Feb. 5, 1927 in Fort Wayne. She was the daughter of the late Elmer and Audrey Moss. She worked at Pepsi Cola Company, Eddies Donut Shop, and Halls Bakery, but her biggest and best job was at home raising her family. Working only before and after her children were raised. She met her devoted husband Lavon at Eddies Donut Shop and spent the last 64 years raising her loving family. "She was a very devoted mother and wife and was very fond of taking long drives in the country with her beloved husband Lavon. She Loved to sew, crochet, draw and was very artistic. She was so talented in making of costumes for her children, she even won the Three Rivers Festival contest every year. They were so unique in design that she was invited to the Ann Colone Show and the Engineer John Show. She was a grand Lady, a one of a kind. She loved singing and playing piano." She wrote poetry for many years. She was a pen pal in the "1927" Pen Pal Club. "She was very thoughtful sending beautiful handmade cards to all her friends and family. She was very devoted to her children. Attending every PTA meeting. She was a room mother, their best friend. Nothing was spared when it came to her children. She always found the time. Her Christian faith was very important. She wouldn't only invite you to the Lords house, she would pick you up. She kept many notes and scriptures. We will all miss her hugs and kisses. Her beautiful smile. Her many Compliments and joyful sense of humor." She is survived by her husband, Lavon Snyder; sons, David (Susan) Snyder of Defiance, Ohio, Lavon (Betty) Snyder, Mark (Ellen) Snyder, and George (Sheri) Snyder all of Fort Wayne; daughters, Marilyn (Russell deceased) Graf of Elkhart, Kathy (Kevin) Clark of Florida, and Kelly Crays of Fort Wayne; 17 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Elmer, Billy and Freddy; and her sisters, Betty Robbins, Donna Dornseif, Lois Patterson. Funeral service is noon, Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, with calling one hour prior. Burial at Spring Creek Cemetery in Sidey, Ind. Memorials to Heartland Hospice. "A special thanks to Lisa and Ron for all their time and Love."
