Robert (Bob) Carl Hohenstein

Robert (Bob) Carl Hohenstein died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at the home of his son. Born December 15, 1923 in Fort Wayne, IN, he was the son of late Robert O. and Elizabeth Hohenstein. He served with the 160th infantry regiment, 40th infantry division, during WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor. He worked for the city of Ft Wayne WPCM for 32 years. Bob was a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church. Bob enjoyed his years of retirement spending many hours donating his time to charities, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and his hobby of repairing almost anything and everything. He is survived by his three children, son John O. ( Deborah) Hohenstein of Hoagland, IN; daughters Roberta (Bob) Barnes of Leesburg, IN and Edith Seewald of North Webster, IN; Vic Seewald, son-in-law of Fort Wayne, IN; and brother Jack (Roseann) Hohenstein. He has nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Nadine, brothers, Howard and Paul, sister, Betty Aschliman and stepmother Frieda Hohenstein. Funeral Service is 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Klaehn Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Rd. Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, with calling one hour prior to service with Reverand Robert Seewald officiating. Calling also from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
