William A. “Wimp” Minnich, 89, of Hoagland, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 at the Village of Heritage, Monroeville. Born Sept. 15, 1923 in Allen County, he retired in 1986 after 34 years with Phelps Dodge Magnet Wire. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hessen Cassel. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Alvina A. (Vachon) Minnich; daughter, Diane (Paul Lloyd) Savieo; son, Roger (Carol) Minnich; son, Larry (Leisa) Minnich; daughter, Marilyn (Michael) Sommers, daughter, Carol (Thomas) Books; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; siblings, Eileen Schuhler, Patricia Proegler, Rosemary Konger, Margaret (Bernard) Konger, Joseph (Anne) Minnich; and sister-in-laws, Vivian Minnich and Joan Minnich. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Caroline (Beckman) Minnich; brothers, Max Minnich, Paul Minnich, sister, Clara Minnich; brother-in-laws, Donald Schuhler, Jack Proegler and Don Konger. Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00 am Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hessen Cassel, 11337 US 27 South with calling one hour prior. Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013 at Klaehn, Fahl and Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Rd. Chapel, 6424 Winchester Rd. Burial in St. Joseph Hessen Cassel Cemetery.
