Obituary of Evelyn Marie Payne
Evelyn Marie Payne, age 82, of Bentonville died Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Winchester Medical Center. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home with Father Christopher Lemme officiating. Entombment will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow at noon at the Front Royal Moose Lodge # 829, 1340 John Marshall Highway, Front Royal, VA 22630. Mrs. Payne was born in Washington, DC on May 22, 1931 a daughter of the late Charles Russell and Florence Myrtle Beall Keller. She was the president and owner of Payne Supply in Front Royal for 42 years. She was a member of the Front Royal Women of the Moose Chapter 1194, and the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks. She was a Past President of the Front Royal/Warren County Chamber of Commerce, Past President of the Business and Professional Women’s Association and was the Treasurer of the Warren County Fair Association. Mrs. Payne was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by her children, John Russell Payne and wife Susan, and Carol Ann Payne Langlais all of Bentonville; her brother, George T. Keller and wife Hilda of Edinburg; her sister, Catherine Louise Brown and husband Jerry of Washington, IN; her grandchildren, John F. Payne, II, and Jamie M. Langlais; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Dakota and Callie. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Payne was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John F. Payne in 2004; her brothers, Charles R. Keller, Jr., and Walter B. Keller; and her sister, Elizabeth Ann Knapp. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Women of the Moose will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. during the visitation. Pallbearers will be Johnny Payne, Todd Keller, Clint Bishop, Danny Langlais, Randy Franken and Mike Garrett. Honorary pallbearers will be Women of the Moose Chapter 1194, Moose Lodge #829, Warren County Fair Association, Wayne Murphy, Charlie Keller, Frankie Payne, George Keller, Jerry Brown, and James Stogdale.
