Dora Elizabeth Burk, 101, of Greencastle passed away early Monday Morning at Autumn Glen Assisted Living.
Dora was born in Greencastle on June 18, 1916, the daughter of Charles and Hazel (Morgan) Wood, and attended Greencastle High School.
Mrs. Wood worked for over 20 years as a Marshmallow Packer with Cracker Jack. She was a member of Brick Chapel United Methodist Church. Dora volunteered at Putnam County Senior Center, the Waters of Greencastle, and Hickory Creek. She and her husband delivered Meals on Wheels for many years.
Survivors include her brother, William Alva Wood, (wife-Karen), Greencastle; special friends, Janna Kissel, and Kathy Rich; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 25 years, Ralph Burk, three brothers, James E., Charles Jr., and Jackie Wood; and three sisters, Mary Cummings, Jewel Parker, and Betty Dickey.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018, at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Strahm officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home from Noon until time of service.
