Rick Ray Sutherland

Rick Ray Sutherland, 54, Greencastle, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Hendricks County Regional Hospital.
Rick was born in Terre Haute on August 3, 1963, the son of Donald Ray and Ellen Kay (McKinley) Sutherland, and was a graduate of Terre Haute South High School.
Mr. Sutherland worked as an IT Manager, until his retirement. He was on the Putnam County Fair Board for many years, was on the Horse and Pony 4-H Board, and was a Putnam County Goat Club Volunteer. He was also a former Mason and member of the Scottish Rite. Rick was an avid South Putnam Girls Athletics Fan. He loved spending time with his family and working with animals.
Survivors include his wife of over 28 years, Erin Mahoney, Cloverdale; three children, Brandon Sutherland (wife-Ashlie), Danville, Shea Mahoney-Sutherland, (husband-Jonathan Addler), Cloverdale, and Bree Mahoney-Sutherland, Cloverdale; two grandchildren, Jackson Sutherland, and Jaylinn Servies; his mother-in-law, Susan Mahoney; and his cat, Chondrite.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his father-in-law, Robert Mahoney.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018, or one hour prior to time of service.
