Mrs. Evelyn F Tatum

Evelyn F. Tatum, 94, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017. Evelyn loved working and growing flowers in her yard and won best yard of the month several times each year. She was also an active member of Memorial Baptist Church. Evelyn was preceded in rest by her first husband, James R. Young Sr.; second husband, William Tatum; son, James R. Young Jr.; brothers, W.D., Howard, Kyle Ford; and sisters, Alice, Helen, and Maxine. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Thompson; grandchildren, John Scott Lawson, Michael S. Lawson, Cathy Young Windham, and James A. Young; great-grandchildren, Casidy Lawson, Sorsha Monique Lawson, Natasha Lawson, Nicole Windham, Holly Windham, and Travis Barber; and great-great grandson Kole. The family will receive friends 2 to 3 p.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held following the visitation at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family wants to thank Barbara Halley, Mary Beth Caufield, Sandy Peterson, and Russell Craig for their loving care of mom over the last few years.
