Obituary of Franklin V. Modlin, Sr.
Frank V. Modlin, Sr. of Hampton, Virginia passed away at the age of 95. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Glendora Modlin; his two sons, Frank Modlin Jr. and his wife Kelley, and Michael Modlin and his wife Marilyn; and his two daughters, Vickie Canfield and her husband Tony, and Linda Kearney and her husband Anthony. He enjoyed a long list of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Modlin was a veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a long time member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Hampton. Services will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at the Bethel Baptist Church at 1647 Briarfield Road. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm and services to follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens. The family would like to recognize all of the caregivers who provided comfort and care during the past few months. Special thanks to Ray, April, Janet, Leah, Jackie and the entire Riverside Hospice team. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Nathan and Diane Fray missionaries to Brazil.
