George Truman Owen

George Truman Owen, 84, passed away July 29, 2018. He was a native of North Carolina and a resident of Virginia for 67 years.
Truman was a long-time carpenter and member of Faith Church of God.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harley G. and Azalee Grace Owen, sister, and two grandchildren. Truman is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Ruby L. Owen; four sons, George, Mark, Dean, Jody; five daughters, Barbara, Ramona, Laura, Shirley, Alice; 25 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Hurshel Owen; and three sisters, Nancy, Joan, and Jean.
The family will receive friends 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Faith Church of God in Hampton. A celebration of Truman’s life will follow at 1:00 pm in the church. Interment will be at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
