Obituary of Mr Gregory Lee Brundage
Gregory Lee Brundage, 44, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014 after a brief illness. Born in Portsmouth on February 3, 1969, he was the beloved son of Kaylene Brundage and the late Danny Brundage and a resident of Hampton for 28 years. Greg was a Master Firefighter Paramedic for the City of Newport News and formerly a firefighter at the Newport News Shipyard and City of Chesapeake. He was a member of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club, avid fan of NASCAR’s Jeff Gordon and a diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys, whose player selections he often criticized. As a very close friend said of Greg, “Your opinionated self will be greatly missed.” Surviving are his loving wife of 22 years, Dayna; his son, Matthew; his daughter, Rebecca; sisters, Victoria (Jeff) Amos and Laura (Phil) Elliott, both of Fincastle, VA; and nieces, Elizabeth, Emily and Catherine Amos, Madison and Kaylene Elliott. Other relatives include: Uncles, Tom (Ellen) Brundage of Sullivan, OH, and Dennis (Cathy) Carpenter of New London; Aunts, Rachel (Jack) Harner of New London, and Diane (Dale) Seel of Bellevue, OH, and cousins D.J. Carpenter, Jennifer Hale, Andrew Harner, Josh Harner, Kevin Brundage and Kelly Brundage. His extended family includes his in-laws, Jim and Pat Weston of Avon, NC; “brothers”, Jim (Angie)Weston, Jr. of Kissimmee, FL, Jamie (Heather) Weston of Smith Mtn. Lake, VA and Kelly (Tiffany) Weston of Greensboro, NC; and nieces and nephews, Hannah, Kelcey, Bodie, Audrey, Natalie and Callie Weston, and Tyler and Austin Vaught. A Firefighter’s Funeral Service “The Last Ride” will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 6 at Grace United Methodist Church, Newport News. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hampton Roads Good Samaritan Fund, PO Box 6281, Newport News VA 23606 or New London VFD, 115 E Main St, New London OH 44811.
