Robert W. Del Sesto

Robert W. Del Sesto, age 68 and a 43-year resident of Norfolk, Virginia passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 at home surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with cancer. A native of Grafton, Ohio, he was born on September 15, 1949 to Rocco and Norma Del Sesto. Rob was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving last on the USS Leary as a Disbursing Clerk. During his service he earned the National Defense Service Medal. After his military service he worked as a computer programmer for EDS (Electronic Data Systems) until his retirement in 2000. Rob was an avid supporter of the World Wildlife Fund. He was active in his neighborhood civic league and the city clean-up campaign. He also enjoyed horse racing and working out at the YMCA. Rob is survived by his life partner of 35 years, Raymond E. Puscher, whom he married on October 21, 2014. He is also survived by brothers, Ronald (Jean) Del Sesto of Brewerton, NY and Rocco (Debra) Del Sesto of Watkinsville, GA; sister, Maria (Mirko) Mujic of Eastlake, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in rest by his parents, Rocco and Norma Del Sesto, and brother, Richard (Dolores – deceased) Del Sesto. Per Rob’s request, there will be no visitation. Graveside service and entombment will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 3:45 pm at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 N. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, Virginia. The Rev. Shawn Prince will officiate. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
