Walter Frank Walling, Sr.

Walter Frank Walling, Sr., 87, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018. He was born in Newport News and was a resident of Elberon for 15 years. Walter served in the U.S. Army. He retired in 1980 from the Newport News Shipyard after 35 years. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and American Legion Post #25. Walter was preceded in rest by his wife, Jane Petterson Walling. He is survived by his daughter, Katherine Jensen; two sons, James Walling and Walter F. Walling, Jr.; grandchildren, Kristie Shields, Zachary Jensen, Candice Walling, Amber Walling, Cameron Walling, and Jaiden Walling; and great-grandson, Eli Jensen. A celebration of Walter’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.
