David Lee Bishop, Sr.

David Lee Bishop, Sr., resident of Mansfield, Louisiana for the last 11 years passed away Friday, January 11, 2013 after a 6 year battle with lung cancer. He was 58, born April 4, 1954 in Indianapolis, Indiana. David was a 1972 graduate of Howe High School; he was Class President and Prom King. He excelled in academics and athletics, especially football. David attended Butler University on a football scholarship to study Pharmacy. He was an active minister of Mansfield, Louisiana Jehovah's Witnesses, formerly of Christian Park congregation of Indianapolis. He is survived by his wife, Mellodee (Harp) Bishop; parents, Jimmie and Carol (Waterman) Bishop; brother, Steven Bishop (wife, Lori); children, Elizabeth “Buffy” Bishop and David Bishop II; step-son, Jeremiah David Nicholson; and 4 grandchildren, David III, Aubrie, Vincent, and Olivia. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Little & Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E. Stop 11 Rd., Indianapolis, where visitation and fellowship will immediately follow the service.
