Obituary of Mary Ruth Roller
Mary Ruth (Wallen) Roller, 87, a resident of the South Side of Indianapolis since 1951, passed away March 11, 2018. Mary was born in Lee County Virginia to the late Null and Pearl (Johnson) Wallen. She was a longtime member of the Flower Gap Primitive Baptist Church in Blackwater, Virginia. She was the manager at Roselyn Bakery Store # 3, at Madison and Edgewood for more than 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Calloway Patton Roller July 2, 2001. Also preceding her in death were siblings, Jack, Mitchell and Guy Wallen and Ova Wallen, Venice Lawson, Ann Manis and Bonnie Hurd. Her daughter-in-law, Sheryl Roller also precedes her in death. Mary Ruth is survived by her sons, Kerry L. Roller and his wife Becky of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Tim Roller of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Rebecca Motes, Calloway Patton Roller III, Thomas Mitchell Roller, Misty Black, Sarah Barker, Tim Roller II, Josh and Travis Weddle; great-grandchildren, Trenton, Easton, Camden and Christian Motes, Jace Roller, Noah, Jackson & Amelia Black, Spencer, Olivia, Nathaniel and Simon Barker, Mariah Bigger, Ethan, Troy and Naomi Roller, Chelsea King and Hunter Weddle. Her sister Wanda Osborne of Kingsport, TN and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Mary Ruth’s life will be held from 4:00 PM- 8:00 PM, on Wednesday March 14, 2018 at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 4901 East Stop 11 Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46237. There will be a graveside service at Flower Gap Cemetery in Blackwater Va. on Friday March 16, 2018 at 12:00 pm. We are asking for everyone to meet at Robinette Funeral home in Blackwater, Va. by 11:45 pm and follow in procession to the cemetery. The Roller family would like to especially thank all of the staff at The Bickford of Greenwood for their love and dedication to Mary while she was a resident. We are grateful for the care giving Mary received from Julie Thrasher and Tammy Pryor. They filled Mary and her family with great comfort and care in her last days.
