Patricia Ann Casey Beidelman

Patricia Ann (Casey) Beidelman, 78, went home to the Lord on July 5, 2018. A longtime resident of the eastside of Indianapolis, she attended Our Lady of Lourdes Grade School and was in the first graduating Class of 1957 of Scecina Memorial High School. Her first job out of high school was with the “Phone Company” as she called it, where she enjoyed many hilarious years there with her dear friend, Anne Blackburn. She also spent many wonderful years as a teacher’s aide at Sunny Heights and as a receptionist at the Warren Early Childhood Center helping children and teachers. Many former students would greet her as adults to thank her for her kind and loving way. She loved her husband and four boys very much, but then she loved everyone. Her house on Harbison Court was a welcoming home to the Beidelman and Casey families, her friends from different parts of life, and even strangers who needed help or encouragement. She hosted numerous parties and events in her home through the years. Whether it was hearing your favorite song on the player piano, playing a little backyard volleyball, or having some of her world famous stuffing, you always felt welcome and enjoyed yourself! Patty Ann and her sister and co-matriarch, Helen Marie, were often together to plan the next party, shop for Christmas gifts, count heads at the Miramar pool, or to help those in any need. Patty Ann had many wonderful friends through the years that brought her joy and laughter. She stayed close to friends from her days at Lourdes and Scecina, and she described these friends as “the girls that she used to run around with”. She and Bob took Labor Day weekend trips with the Crumps and McAtees to many spots in the Midwest. She also had many good friends from her days volunteering at Holy Spirit as a block captain and school parent. Patty Ann had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. She loved to sing with them and take them shopping and out to eat. She was happiest singing with the grandkids in church and then being with them to share stories and getting a bite to eat. Finally, the joys and the blessings she knew in this life were but a glimpse of the eternal life with God in heaven for which she prayed and in which she always hoped. She is survived by her sons, Kerry C. Beidelman, Stephen R. Beidelman, Michael A. Beidelman, and Reverend Patrick J. Beidelman; her grandchildren: Caleb, Caitlin, Casey, Clare, Ashley and Abigail; her great-grandchildren: Cato and Benson; her brother-in-law, Robert McGrath, and her sister-in-law, Kathryn (Beidelman) Pfeiffer and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews from the Casey and Beidelman families. She was particularly blessed with a wonderful circle of friends from the many chapters of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick & Agnes (Cahill) Casey, her husband of 46 years Robert, her sisters Mary (William) Leen and Helen Marie McGrath, her brothers Thomas (Louise), Jack, Joseph (Marie and Roseann), Edward (Rose), and James (Mary) Casey, her nephew Rev. Noah Casey, and her daughter-in-law, Andrea (Rau) Beidelman. Visitation will be from 4 to 7:30 pm on Sunday, July 8th, at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 N. Shadeland Avenue, Indpls, IN, 46219, and from 10-11 am at the church on the morning of the funeral. A service of prayer and remembrance will take place at 7:30 pm on Sunday at the mortuary. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7243 E. 10th Street, Indpls, IN, 46219, on Monday, July 9th. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
