Roberta M. "Bertie" Mooney

Roberta Maxine "Bertie" Mooney, 94, of Greentown, passed away at 3:50 AM Wednesday May 9, 2018 at Century Villa Healthcare in Greentown. Born December 29, 1923 in Kokomo, she was the daughter of the late Mick McKay and Bertha (Brunk) McKay. On April 7, 1945 she married Ivan L. Mooney. He preceded her in death on August 9, 2013. She was employed with Delco Electronics, retiring after 30 years of service. She was also a co-owner, along with her husband Ivan, of Flowers by Ivan and Rick, a flower shop that has been in business for about 68 years. She was an avid Braves baseball fan. Survivors include one son, Rick (Deborah) Mooney of Kokomo; one granddaughter Lori Thomas; eight great grandchildren Cody, Ricki, Katie, Abby, Jason, Cheyanna, Alex, and Kolton; also one niece and her four-legged friend Mo Mo. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters Wanita McKay and Beulah Lindley; two granddaughters Heather Purvis and Michelle Lybrook. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday May 14, 2018 at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 South Main Street, Kokomo. Pastor Jerry Gephart will officiate. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 PM Monday at the mortuary.
