Sarah Lindley Anthony

Sarah Lindley Anthony, 92, Kokomo, ascended to her heavenly mansion just over the hilltop on February 10, 2018 at the Waterford Place. Sarah was born on February 24th, 1925 to Edward S. and Bertha E. (Mendenhall) Lindley in Kokomo. Sarah married Gorman D. Anthony on October 10th, 1943 in Kokomo until his passing on September 28th, 1984. She leaves her children to cherish her memory, James (Louetta) Anthony, Gary (Mary) Anthony, Janice Anthony, Judith (Kenneth) Toney, and Jeanine (Max) Elmore, grandchildren Mike Collins, Troy Bishop, Kimberly Bailey, Tamara Page, Kevin Carter, Patty (Weldon) Broberg, Brett Toney, MSgt. Greg (Rachel) Toney, James Anthony Jr., Travis (Shannon) Anthony, Scott Anthony, Amanda Anthony, Teresa (Joe) Beatty, Sarah (Joe) Richards, Carrie (Brandan) Worland, Chad (Shannon) Elmore, and Shane (Raynee) Elmore, forty two great grandchildren, and sixteen great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Sarah graduated from Kokomo high school, class of 1943, and attended courses at Indiana Business College. She retired from Delco Electronics after a career spanning 30 years. She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, canning, cooking. But her greatest joy was being with her loving family. Sarah was a devoted mother, wife, and friend. She was a member of Faith Community Church of Phlox for over thirty years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gorman D. Anthony, sisters Ruby Hockersmith and Mary Bolinger, brothers Allen, John, Sam, George, Joe Lindley, daughter Joyce Collins, two granddaughters, and one great granddaughter. Services will be Saturday February 17th, 2018 at 1:00pm with visitation from 11:00am until time of service at Ellers Mortuary, Main Street Chapel with Pastor John Clark officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
