Kenneth Burton Ford

Kenneth Burton Ford, 70, of Madison Heights, passed away December 1, 2012. He is survived by his wife, of 27 years, Joyce Stratton Ford.
Born May 26, 1942, in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Lawrence Burton Ford, and Louise Witt Ford. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Maria Ragland, and Janice Banton; and a brother, Lawrence D. Ford.
Mr. Ford was a United States Navy veteran. He was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church, and of the American Legion. He was retired from Progress Printing, and was a founding member of the Little Mountain Boys Blue Grass Band.
Survivors also include five children, Cynthia Mayberry and husband David, Christy Moyers, and Sandee Patton and husband Dale, all of Madison Heights, Carrie Christine Pillow and husband Lynn, of Evington, and Kenneth Scott Ford and wife Miranda, of Rustburg; siblings, Minor P. Ford and wife Blanche, of Lynchburg, Shirley Smith and husband Mike, and Jeanie Blankenship, both of Lynchburg, Theresa Ford, of Monroe, DeRonda Graybell and husband Joe, of Madison Heights, Dennis Ford, of Monroe, and Donald Ray Ford and wife, of Lynchburg; grandchildren, Kyla Mays, Miranda Hill, Jessica Hill, Morgan Word, Brandi and David Pillow, Troy, Curt, and Arminda Patton; special niece, Tiffany Wells and husband Justin, and Georgia; special friends, Edith and Calvin Vest, the Little Mountain Boys, and their wives, numerous other special nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Faith Baptist Church, by the Rev. Brian Hudson. Interment will follow in Briarwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 p.m., one hour prior to the funeral service, on Wednesday, at the Church and at other times at the residence.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Faith Baptist Church.
