Robert Henderson Almond, 84, of Madison Heights died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born in Lynchburg, September 11, 1928, he was a son of the late Harry David Almond and Ruth Wright Almond. He was retired from R. Hoe Co. and was a US Navy veteran.
Survivors include his companion of 35 years, Barbara Truxell of Madison Heights; two sons, Ronnie Almond and his wife Deborah and Kenneth Almond and his wife Melea and one daughter, Tina A. Cash and her husband Ernie all of Madison Heights; two sisters Caroline Schmitt of Roanoke and Irene Paris of Dayton, OH; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the Monelison Volunteer Fire Department or the Monelison Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 56, Madison Heights, Virginia 24572
