Joey "Dog" M. Jackson

Joey “Dog” M. Jackson Sr., 58 of Markle passed away at 1:30am on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at his residence. Joey had worked in construction. He was a member of the American Legion Post 7, where he was a regular patron, and he also started the Legion Riders at Post 7 and was director from 2009 – 2011, VFW Men’s Auxiliary Post 2457 of New Haven and Labor Union Local 213. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, horseback riding, hunting and fishing.
Joey was born on October 3, 1955 in Marshall, Arkansas, a son of S.T. and Wanda (Rolen) Jackson.
He was united in marriage to Donna Counterman on July 8, 1989 at the New Haven Conservation Club. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include his mother: Wanda Starks of Indianapolis; a daughter: Cassie Jo Jackson of Kansas City, KS; a son: Joey M. Jackson, Jr. of Kansas City, KS; a brother: Randy (Lavell) Jackson of Indianapolis; a daughter-in-law: Carriann Jackson of Indianapolis and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father: S.T. Jackson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 1:00 – 4:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana.
Memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at 4:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel.
