Mary Margaret Whitestine Bradburn, 95 of Warren passed away at 11:33 am on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Heritage Pointe of Warren where she had been a resident since 2003. Recently, she was a member of the Warren Church of Christ. She formerly was a member of the Markle Church of Christ where she was actively involved in the life of the church for over 50 years. She served in the nursery and played piano for the youth groups. She retired from the accounting department of the Majestic Company in May, 1982 after 26 years of service. Prior to that, she worked as a cook at the Huntington Township School. She was born on December 4, 1922 in Rogers, Arkansas to George Bert Whitestine and Leatha Myrtle Eckman Whitestine. At age 16, the family returned to Lancaster Township, Huntington County, Huntington, Indiana where she graduated from Lancaster Commissioned High School in 1939. She married Thomas Junior Bradburn, March 9, 1941, who preceded her in death on January 25, 2008. After her marriage, other than 10 months in San Francisco, CA, with infant son Charles, during her husband’s army service at Fort Winfield Scott, now the Presidio, she lived and worked in Huntington County. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include a son: Charles A. (Roma Jean Swindler) Bradburn of Fishers, Indiana, a grandson: Christopher A. (Teresa) Bradburn of Indianapolis, a granddaughter: Kimberly R. (R. Brent) Swigert of Fishers, and four great grandchildren: Andrew Thomas and Sophie Marie Bradburn, Indianapolis, and Isabelle Morgan and Abigail Cleo Swigert, Fishers. A nephew, William G. Whitestine, A great niece, Karyn Schumann Chestnut and many Bradburn nieces and nephews. Others preceding her in death were: a son, David Lee Bradburn, age twelve, in January 1959 of sledding accident injuries, her parents and a brother, John Eckman Whitestine in 1992 and his wife, Miriam, 2016, and niece, Pamela Whitestine Schumann, 2017. All sisters and brothers-in-law have preceded her in death. The family wishes to thank the staff, doctors, and nurses of Heritage Pointe of Warren, Warren, IN for the excellent love and care given to her throughout her years as a resident, particularly the last seven years in healthcare. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel with Gerald O. Moreland officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made out to Warren Church of Christ, Markle Church of Christ or United Methodist Memorial Home Foundation all in care of Myers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 403, Markle, IN 46770. Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery.
