Robert Glen Oberbroeckling
July 3, 1933 – June 24, 2013

Robert G. Oberbroeckling “Obie”79, of Mechanicsville, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013. Obie served in the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam and receiving Meritorious Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, as well as the Good Conduct Medal and others. He worked in Army Intelligence retiring at the rank of Lt. Colonel. He was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Ashland, Va.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Beverly Oberbroeckling, children: Bob Oberbroeckling, Julie Buehler, Susan Howard, Scott Oberbroeckling and wife Crystal. Nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren and scores of loving relatives and dear friends.
Visitation will be held 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Woody Funeral Home, Atlee Chapel 9271 Shady Grove Rd. Mechanicsville, VA 23116. There will be a graveside service at Amelia Veterans Cemetery 10300 Pridesville Rd, Amelia Court House, VA at 1:00pm on Friday, June 28, 2013. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America at www. alzfdn.org Condolences may be left at www.woodyfuneralhome.com.
