Karen Diane Bales

Karen Diane Bales of North Chesterfield, peacefully departed this life on July 9, 2018, after a year-long battle with a chronic illness. Loving mother of Aaron; sister of Kyle (Linda); sister-in-law of Alex and Cheryl; very special aunt of Lesley (Chris), Jamie (Derrick) and Michele; great-aunt of Ryan, Evan and Owen; friend to many, including her extended Verizon and CWA family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Marion Bales; her sister and best friend, Lynn Tajnsek; and her brothers, Fred (Charlotte), Jack (Nora) and David Bales. Born in Richmond, Va., on April 3, 1957 and a lifelong Chesterfield County resident, she enjoyed reading, playing computer games, watching all of "her shows" and conversing with anyone she met. We miss her so much and love her immensely. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Woody Funeral Home, Huguenot Road, and a graveside service will take place on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 10 a.m., at Dale Memorial Park.
