Marilyn Root Cauble
November 20, 1925 – March 6, 2013

Marilyn Root Cauble, 87, of Nashvile, Indiana, a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend to many, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Brown County Health and Living with her family at her side. Marilyn was born November 20th, 1925 in New Castle, Indiana to Arnim and Thelma (Barnes) Root. She grew up in Hagerstown, Indiana and Tuscola, Illinois.
Marilyn had a BS in Education and a MS in Psychology from Ball State University. She taught in Daleville, Indiana and was Director of Pupil and Personnel Services for Delware Community Schools. Marilyn was instrumental in developing one of the first systems of preschool diagnostic testing which won an international award. She traveled in Europe and the United States, helping to establish these testing programs. After retiring she volunteered at Ball Memorial Hospital and the Minnetrista Center. She especially enjoyed helping with the festival of Trees and Lights. She was a longtime Muncie resident before moving to Nashville to be closer to her children and their families.
Marilyn is survived by her Daughter, Adeana (Paul) Cauble Colvin; and Son, Douglas (Julie) Cauble; Sister, Jeanne Root Miller, Four Grandsons, Paul and Brian Colvin, and Ryan and Joshua Cauble; Four Great-Granddaughters, One Great-Grandson and several Nieces and Nephews.
At Marilyn’s request there will be no funeral; however, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Contributions in memory of Marilyn may be made to Mother’s Cupboard, Brown County Historical Society, Jackson Township Fire Department or Habitat for Humanity in Nashville.
