Dorothy R. (Lenfert) Engle Roberts

Dorothy R. (Lenfert) Engle Roberts, 93 years of age, died Friday July 13, 2018 with her family at her side. She was born December 19, 1924, in New Albany, Indiana to the late Henry H. and Margaret (Weinmann) Lenfert and was the widow of Wilfred Engle who died in 1970. Dorothy was retired from I.C.I. America, a member of St. John Paul II St. Joe Hill Chapel and a volunteer for many years at the St. Francis Soup Kitchen. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; and siblings, Ben, Charles, George, Jim, and Martha Lenfert, and Mary Townsend. Dorothy will be fondly remembered and missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Perry G. Roberts Sr.; sons, Michael J. (Wanda) and Larry J. Engle; stepchildren, Vickie Alexander (Larry), Lou Ann Snyder, and Perry G. Roberts Jr.; seven grandchildren, Angela, Justin, Jessica, Erica, Jacob, Jordan and Leah; and five great grandchildren, Ellery, Danny, Matthew, Bella Rose and Talon. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 18th, and 8:00 am until 9:00 am Thursday, July 19th, at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:30 pm Wednesday evening. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday, July 19th, at St. John Paul II, St. Joe Hill Chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary’s New Albany Catholic Cemetery.
