Mary Haxall Canfield

CANFIELD, Mary Haxall Sheppard Ward, age 88, died peacefully at her home on January 17, 2013. She was the widow of H. Arthur Canfield. Survivors include her three children, Mary Haxall Ward, Letitia Drummond Ward, and Bolling Scott Ward. She was predeceased by her first husband, L. Carlton Ward. Mary Haxall was the daughter of Ruth Haxall Scott Sheppard and John Daniel Sheppard, and the granddaughter of Dr. Herbert R. Scott and Mary Haxall Scott. She had a lifelong interest in genealogy and family history and was a member of the Jamestowne Society; Chancellor Wythe Chapter
National Society Daughters of the American Revolution; Lee Chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy; Colonial Dames of the 17th Century; Virginia Historical Society; Henrico Historical Society; Epes Society; The Woman's Club; and The Bolling Family Asssociation. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 21 at the Woody Funeral Home, Parham Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment at Hollywood Cemetery will be private.
