William Thomas Supulski

William Thomas Supulski I, 98, of Midlothian, passed away April 14, 2014. Surviving are his devoted wife of 68 years, Florence Oksoon Lee Supulski; his two children a daughter Gwendolyn Turbeville and husband, Les, and a son William Supulski II and wife, Dorothy; four grandchildren, Milisa Batten and husband, Kelly, Daniel Turbeville and wife, Mary, Wesley Turbeville and wife, Paige, and Leah Supulski; and five great-grandchildren Caroline, Alexander, Grant and Ellis Batten and Charlie Turbeville. Also surviving is one brother Daniel Supulski and wife, Roxanne.
Bill served 30 years in the US Army. Drafted in 1941, he was stationed at Fort Shafter, Hawaii, as a military policeman, where he witnessed the December 7th Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. By the end of World War II, he was provost sergeant for northern Oahu. In 1951, he was appointed Warrant Officer. He served in Korea and Vietnam during those conflicts, and was stationed in Germany for 3 years. Among his numerous awards are the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, and Commander’s Award for Public Service. Upon retirement in 1971, Bill and Florence did volunteer work helping hospitalized soldiers and their families at Fort Bragg, NC. They received the Three Chaplains Award in recognition of their service. They moved to Midlothian in 2006. Burial in Arlington Cemetery is planned.
