Barbara Ann Jobe Batman

Barbara Ann Batman, 78, a resident of Shenandoah, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Page Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 19, 1934 in Page County and was the daughter of the late Melvin and Mary Colvin Jobe. Barbara lived her entire life in Page County and attended Luray schools. After her retirement from Wrangler, she worked for Massanutten and Shoney’s. She was a member of Shenandoah Baptist Church. On May 28, 1960 she married, Earl R. “Jack” Batman Jr., who survives. Also surviving are three sons, George Dill of Luray, Michael and Jamie Batman both of Shenandoah; one daughter, Cindy Dill of Luray; eight grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Petefish of Williamsburg and Janet Gochenour of Luray. The family will receive friends 7-8:00 pm, Friday, February 15, 2013 at Lindsey-Kyger Funeral Home in Shenandoah or friends may call at the home of Jamie and Linda Batman, 2196 Fleeburg Road, Shenandoah, at other times. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, February 16, with Rev. Hudson Nuckols officiating. Burial will be in Coverstone Cemetery in Shenandoah.
