Obituary of Lena Virginia Good Beaghan
Mrs. Lena Virginia Beaghan, 95, a resident of Shenandoah, died December 21, 2017 at her residence. A daughter of the late Marvin and Lula Cubbage Good, she was born on November 23, 1922 in Stanley, VA and was a lifelong resident of the Shenandoah community. Lena retired as a supervisor at Rockingham Sleepwear Co. after 28 years of employment. She was a lifelong member of Shenandoah Baptist Church. Lena loved her sports, playing basketball at Stanley High School where she graduated, also loved her Duke Blue Devils Basketball Coach K; loved to bowl and won the partner state bowling tournament one year as well. On June 1, 1940 she married Kyle E. Beaghan, Sr., who preceded her in death on October 14, 2008. Surviving is a son, Kyle E. Beaghan, Jr. and his devoted companion Margaret Baber of Fishersville, daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Beaghan of Staunton; five grandchildren, Benton L. Beaghan and wife Alba of Georgia, Kyle E. Beaghan III and his wife, Laura, of Georgia, Jaclyn Beaghan Bergeron and husband, Dr. C. Blake Bergeron of Tennessee, Tara R. Beaghan of Richmond, Sean P. Beaghan of Colorado, eight great-grandchildren, Grayson and Natalie Beaghan, Taylor Maggiore and MacKenzie Kay Beaghan, Abby Beaghan , and Anthony Beaghan, all of Georgia, and Lilly and Samuel Bergeron of Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Shirley Beaghan and Margie Davis of Shenandoah, Janet Dofflemyer of Staunton, and Phillis Kite of Stuarts Draft; numerous nieces and nephews; and her wonderful cat, 0Molly. She was preceded in death six sisters and four brothers. Lena was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Special thanks to Lena’s devoted and wonderful friends, Jeannie, Mark, and Megan Armentrout of Shenandoah. The family will receive friends from noon until 1pm at Shenandoah Baptist Church on Friday, December 29th, 2017. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Paul Strassner, Sr. officiating. Burial will in the Methodist Cemetery in Shenandoah. Active pallbearers will be Benton Beaghan, Kyle F. Beaghan, Sean Beaghan, Blake Beaghan, Kevin Beaghan, Chuckie Beaghan and Stewart McDaniel.
