Mary Lee (Cash) Brooks

Mary Lee (Cash) Brooks, 81, of Fishersville, passed away early Friday, September 2, 2011 at Shenandoah Nursing Home. Born July 23, 1930 in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Homer C. and Goldie (Dorman) Cash. Mrs. Brooks was a member of Annex United Methodist Church, Staunton and also belonged to the Moose Lodge of Colonial Beach, Virginia. She enjoyed spending time with family, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, camping at Colonial Beach, boating, fishing, attending yard sales and shopping. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving Husband, Enoch H. Brooks, Jr. whom passed away in 2002; son, Ronnie E. Brooks; sister, Margaret Herring; sister-in-law, Edith Cash. Survivors include her sons Donnie Brooks and wife Susan of Verona and Roger Lee Brooks and wife Debbie Ann of Stuarts Draft; siblings, Lucille Shifflett and husband Clarence of Newberg, NY, Homer H. Cash of Manchester, PA, Elizabeth Hise and husband Richard of Stuarts Draft and Ruth Gladwell and husband Roger of Stuarts Draft; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 18 W. Frederick Street, with Rev. Russell Heinrich officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery, Stuarts Draft, Virginia. Active pallbearers will be C.J. Shuey, Curtis Shuey, Al Roughgarden, Jeffrey Cash, Jr., Steve Harris and Jesse Gwin, Jr. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the funeral home and other times at the residence of her son, Donnie Brooks, 4 Granary Road, Verona, Virginia.
