Christine M. Campbell

Christine Elinor (McKay) Campbell, 83, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Augusta Health. She was born in Highland County on January 11, 1935, a daughter of the late John Mason and Catherine Elizabeth (Lamb) McKay. Christine was a member of Victory Baptist. She worked as a machine operator with Hershey and also worked for Hollister and Crompton-Shenandoah Plant. In her spare time, Christine greatly enjoyed gardening, decorating her home, and spending time with her family. She was a devoted and loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Corbett Campbell and her brother, Johnny McKay. Survivors include her sons, Steve Humphreys and wife, Debbie of Sherando, DJ Humphreys and wife, Diana of Stuarts Draft, and Patrick Ellinger and wife, Jennifer of Florida; eight grandchildren; nine great -grandchildren; siblings, Raymond McKay, Tina Campbell, Rosalee “OE” McDonald and Roxy Dameron; as well as extended family and friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastors Frank Hall and Billy Coffey officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Christine’s grandsons. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Christine’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
