Baldassare "Barney" Alonge

Baldassare “Barney” Alonge, 97 of Terre Haute, died on the evening of Monday, May 7, 2012 at Kindred Southwood at the age of 97. He was born on March 10, 1915 in New York City, the son of the late Joseph and Constance (Gambino) Alonge. Barney loved his family and was also a member of St. Joseph University Parish. He most recently resided at the Wyndmoor, where he will be dearly missed. Survivors include his daughter, Constance Lehner and her husband George of Terre Haute; son, Joseph Alonge and his wife Francine of New York; three grandchildren, Desiree Read and husband Don, Torre Anderson and husband Greg and Gerard Lehner and wife Shelly; five great grandchildren, Ryan Bray, Allisa Frazier, McKenzie Frazier, Tyler Lehner and Nathan Lehner. Barney also leaves behind one great grandson, Kadeyn Bray, along with three siblings, Frank Alonge and wife Lorraine, Josephine Dragotta and Dorothy Bonura and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Barney was welcomed home to heaven by his wife, the former Angelina Mogavero and several siblings. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. until Barney’s Funeral Ceremony at 2:00 p.m. at the Roselawn Funeral Home. Fr. John Bamman, OFM Conv. will officiate with entombment following in Roselawn’s Chapel of Memories. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Barney may be made to the Wyndmoor.
