Gordon Ray Mosier

Gordon Ray Mosier, 82 of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away Aug. 6, 2018, in Union Hospital. He was born May 17, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, to Edgar P. Mosier and Gertrude M. Shepard Mosier.
He started his career as a machinist at Chicago Northwest Railroad in 1960 and retired as a regional mechanical engineer supervisor from CSX Railroad Corp. in 1996 after 36 years. He also worked for the Hulman Center as an usher for 18 years and drove cars for Mace Ford. His hobbies included fishing and bowling; he was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes football fan, coached Little League Baseball in Washington, Indiana, and was also an automotive enthusiast. Gordon was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of Charity Lodge No. 30 F.& A.M. Washington, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, and a lifetime member of Shriners International. He also served as the president of the Lake Association of Lakewood for 30 years
Gordon graduated from Proviso East High School in Chicago. He also attended Detroit Diesel School, where he graduated first in his class.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Perry Mosier, Edgar Lee Mosier and Gene Robert Mosier; and grandson Cale Roberts.
He is survived by his wife, Venita Jane [Gress] Mosier, whom he married May 3,1958; children John Mosier (Melanie), Mark Mosier, Beth Roberts (Jeff), Kelli LeMaster (Brian); grandchildren Josh Mosier, Joel Mosier (Bethany), Anthony Mosier (Yessenia), Zachary Mosier and Chelsea Roberts; great-grandchildren Julian Mosier, Kristopher Mosier, Kara Mosier, Alexis Mosier and Noah Mosier.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Roselawn Funeral Home. Services to follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Mark Grayless officiating. Gordon will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park.
