Jennie Mae Anstead

Jennie Anstead, 89, formerly of Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2013, in Noblesville with her family by her side. She was born on March 13, 1923, in Terre Haute, to Edward and Margaret (Lee) Hodson. She married Wayne Curtis Anstead and together they raised two daughters. Jennie worked for many years as a clerk for JcPenney’s. She was an excellent seamstress. Her love of sewing led her to volunteer her time at The Golden Thimble in Rockville, with her sisters. They took great joy in making sure the shop was ready for the annual Rockville Festival. She will be deeply missed.
Jennie is survived by her daughters: Bonnie Drayer of Noblesville and Barbara Hubler of Phoenix, AZ; seven grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wayne, brothers, Bill Hodson, Ed Hodson, Art Hodson, and Shield Hodson, and sisters, Margaret Elliott, Ruth Mann, Elsie Kyle, Gladys Seely, Priscella Rukes, and Hazel Kirk.
Visitation will be held from 11 until 1 on Tuesday, March 5 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jennie’s name to Riley Children’s Hospital.
