David Lynn DeReus

David Lynn DeReus of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed from this life on February 19, 2018 at 68 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Alma DeReus. He is survived by his brother, Michael L. DeReus (BJ) of Buena Vista, VA; his nieces and nephews, Melanie Higginbotham (Lee), Jeremy DeReus (Jenn), Kirsten Dodd, Catherine Buhler (John), Peter DeReus (Jenna); and twelve grand-nieces and nephews. His Virginia Beach family included his dear friends, Bruce Orum, Bruce Jackson, Natalie Moore (Richard), and Robert Taylor to name a few. David was born in Ft. Benning, Georgia, June 4, 1949. He graduated from Annandale High School, spent some years as a welder, and then returned to school to earn his Associates Degree in 1984 to be a Dental Lab Technician, eventually owning his own lab, Dental Ceramics. David moved to Virginia Beach and made his home there until his passing. David loved classic cars, classic music and being with his family and friends. He will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him. Melanie especially appreciates Natalie Moore for all the help and support given to both she and David these last weeks of his life-there are no words.
