Obituary of Donald Franklin Hacker
Donald Franklin Hacker, 78, loving companion, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away April 7, 2018 after a heroic battle with a terminal illness. Born in 1939 in Portsmouth, OH, Don enlisted at the tender age of 17 in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country for 42 years. Don, or affectionately called “Pop-pop, “ enjoyed working in his yard, playing golf, woodworking and dancing. A fond greeting of his was, “Hey, buttface!” and a softhearted farewell was, “Don’t take any wooden nickels.” Pop-pop will forever be remembered by his loving companion, Cynthia Ranels; two daughters, Kimberly Blackburn and husband, Sam, and Denise Hacker; two grandchildren, Lisa Clark and husband, Michael, and Brandon Blackburn; three great-grandsons, Phoenix, Noah and Caleb. He was preceded in death by the love of his life of 40 years, Donna F. Hacker, and his second love of five years, Anne Hacker. We will always love you passed God.
