Brandon Ashby Rubush

Brandon Ashby Rubush, 25, a resident of Mt. Sidney, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012. He was born on July 22, 1986 in Staunton and was the son of Thomas and Catherine Rubush and Carol Hiner Rubush. Brandon graduated from Ft. Defiance High School and was a member of Augusta Stone Presbyterian Church. He lived his entire life in the Weyers Cave area and worked on the family farm. He was an avid basketball and football fan. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Colby Rubush; two sisters, Samantha Rubush and Ashley Rollyson; grandmother, Mary Ann Rubush; step-grandmother, Drema Coen; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his dog, Ghostface. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John H. Rubush, Jr., Paul and Lona Hiner. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Augusta Stone Presbyterian Church with Rev. Beth McCrary officiating. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Weyers Cave Fire Dept or Grottoes Rescue Squad.
